Laguna Beach is an absolutely beautiful place to live in California. However, finding out where to practice driving in Laguna beach is a bit difficult. New drivers want to avoid heavily trafficked areas but there is plenty of traffic in this area. Luckily, there are a few places that will work perfectly for students.
Top of the World Elementary School
Knowing where to practice driving in Laguna Beach is especially important for inexperienced drivers and student drivers alike. The problem with practicing in Laguna Beach is that most of the parking lots and streets are closer to the coastline with hiking trails covering the eastern side. However, there are still a couple of parking lots that student drivers can use for practicing. One of those parking lots is at the Top of the World Elementary School. The parking lot is not very big, but it is enough space for a student driver to practice.
Thurston Middle School
Another great school parking lot to practice in can be found at Thurston Middle School. This parking lot is another medium-sized lot that may not have a whole lot of room. However, students can time it right so that the lot is empty which will give them enough space to get comfortable driving the car. That is the goal with practicing driving in parking lots, getting comfortable with the car and basic maneuvers. Eventually, teens and young drivers will feel comfortable with basic driving skills, and it would be time to head out onto the roadways.
Moulton Meadows Park
Locals know where to go to avoid tourists. That is where to practice driving in Laguna Beach where students can have room to breathe. Moulton Meadows Park doesn’t have a parking lot, so there is no space to practice at the park. However, there is a residential area right across the street that is far enough away from tourist destinations to allow for practicing. The goal would be to get a feel for what it is like to be on the road in a real-world environment but that is also safe.
Top of the World
Students will want to utilize as much space as they can at the beginning. However, students will get increasingly comfortable as time goes on and gain the confidence to hit more densely populated roadways. Laguna Beach has direct access to one of the longest highways in California, to Coast Highway. This stretch of road is exceptionally long and goes the length of Laguna Beach. However, this is a very highly trafficked area and should not be tackled by inexperienced drivers as the first step. In fact, this stretch of road is best saved for the weeks leading up to the final test at the DMV.
